CURRICULUM

Born 1972 in Palermo; architecture graduated with full marks; specialized at Milan Teatro alla Scala, PhD at Milan Politecnico (Interior and exbihition design) under Andrea Branzi’s tutorship.

Since 1998 works as stage designer in many important italian theatres, like San Carlo (Naples), Carlo Felice (Genoa), Regio (Turin), La Fenice (Venice), Maggio Musicale (Florence), Comunale (Bologna), designing sets for many titles, like Cenerentola, Abduction from the Serail, Idomeneo, Barbiere di Siviglia, Elisir d’amore, Le bel indifférent, La Dafne, Quatro rusteghi, Juditha Triumphans, Arsilda regina di Ponto, Fanciulla del West, Achille in Sciro, Sposo di tre e marito di nessuna, Gazza ladra, Pulcinella vendicato, Signor Goldoni.

He also worked at Tenerife Auditorium, Montpellier Opéra Comedie, Philadelphia Opera Company, Mexico City Covarrubias, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.

In 2005 for Mozart’s Don Giovanni set design obtains “Samaritani Award” as best young italian stage designer.

Collaborates to Palermo University (Architecture Faculty), where he is contract professor (Interior Design) writing essays about interior design, theatre buildings, scenography and exbihition design: The asymmetric scene (Palermo, 2004); Josef Svoboda and his secret (Palermo, 2004); The interior design role in restoring theatrical buildings (Venezia, 2007); Exhibition as a landscape interior (Palermo, 2007); Cave Caveam (Milano, 2007); Interior, Internal and Inner (Palermo, 2009).
